Let me tell you a story…

Even when I was younger, I knew my eating habits needed work. I was so used to living life on the fast-track, eating boxed meals in airports and grabbing quick snacks in between work meetings. By the time I reached my late 20’s, I started noticing that I couldn’t eat on the run anymore without gaining weight, even though I always worked out and was athletic. I started gaining weight and my health started to decline.

Had I known then what I know now, I wouldn’t have been so hard on myself for being “overweight,” I didn’t know that all the salt and sugar in my diet was a contributor to the water retention that made me appear larger than I actually was.

Hitting Rock Bottom...

Years later, in my pain, I turned toward food and alcohol – especially candy, ice cream, wine, and cookies. In my exhaustion, I relied on diet sodas, energy drinks, and all different kinds of caffeine to keep going. I started over with my fitness dozens of times because I just kept starting and stopping over and over.

I found myself 25 pounds overweight and HATING my body. Even worse, I felt exhausted, sick, and moody all the time. I never had any energy, my body hurt, my digestion was a mess, and I lived with never-ending headaches and insomnia.

That was when I realized that my excess weight and all the symptoms I faced every day were keeping me from being the person I dreamed of being. I wasn’t emotionally present at all. Something had to change.

Finally, I started bridging the gap by taking an hard look at what I was actually eating. I got super honest with myself so I could figure out what I was missing. I completely changed the way I looked at my calories. For many people, a calorie is just a calorie. I know better. I wanted to eat a LOT, feel satisfied, AND lose weight all at once.

Calories are made up of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, sugar, and so on. I found that a higher intake of greens and other colorful vegetables meant I was getting higher quality nutrition. This meant I could eat MORE than I was before and easily lose the weight. I discovered that low calorie, high volume foods would curb my hunger much more effectively than a protein bar, which happens to be high in sugar, calories and fat. 

Once I made this realization, eating became something I enjoyed again. Things started making sense and the weight started falling off. I lost all my extra weight in only 2 1/2 months by eating real, healthy, delicious food. I couldn’t believe how easy it was!!!

In a short period of time, I went from feeling like I’d never get my health back on track, to a body that had never been in better shape!

I’m a personal trainer and nutrition coach who specializes in PERMANENT weight loss and lifestyle transformations. Years ago, I lost all my muscle, joy, and self-esteem when a devastating injury left me barely able to walk. For years I felt frumpy, ugly, weak, and lost. I fought hard to get my fit body back, and now I want to help you do the same thing.

I’ve helped hundreds of women learn how to eat properly, exercise moderately, and change their mindset, all while feeling amazing along the way. We never follow deprivation diets, nor do we spend hours on cardio machines. Our road to getting lean and sexy is simple, fun and can easily be done for LIFE.
